Introduction

The Royal Seal

The Crown Perfumery was founded in 1872, in which year Queen Victoria authorised the image of her crown to be used in the design of its bottles, securing the brand's popularity among the British establishment.

Uncover the scent

Over time the fragrance evolves to reveal a trilogy of complementary notes.

Top note

Bergamot

Oil distilled from the juice of a hundred Bergamot Oranges delivers cascades of sunlight to every corner of this complex, sumptuous fragrance. Citrus notes are interspersed with the sugary elixir of Pineapple and Blueberry.

Heart note

Rose de Mai

Jubilant florals compose a rich and sensuous middle. Soft, velvety petals from 170 Rose de Mai flowers make up each drop, joining a heady mix of Osmanthus, Jasmine, Purple Violet, Freesia, Orchid and Lily of the Valley.

Base note

Patchouli

Woodland base notes evoke England’s pastoral heritage, rousing the inner nymph. Warm, earthy notes of Patchouli and hand-harvested Oak Moss combine with Sandalwood, Cedar Wood and Musk.

STORIES

170 Rose Heads

According to legend, angels hovering above its stems cultivate the Rose de Mai plant - a symbol of grace - whose honeyed elixir from 170 flowers, forms the heart of 1872.
